Do employees need to install an app on their personal phone?
Yes — and employees appreciate it. The app gives them real-time access to their expected weekly pay, schedule, and team messages in their preferred language. Most managers simply include it as part of onboarding. It takes under two minutes to set up.
What if an employee's phone doesn't have NFC, or their phone breaks?
Nearly all smartphones made in the last 10 years include NFC. In the rare case a phone doesn't support it — or gets repaired — a manager can manually approve a clock-in from the dashboard. No one misses a shift.
My store has two entrances. Do I need two separate subscriptions?
No. Every store plan includes up to two NFC stickers at no extra cost. Place one at the front door and one at the back — no additional fees.
What if someone takes the NFC sticker home and clocks in remotely?
GPS blocks it automatically. Every clock-in is verified against your store's physical location. If an employee is outside the approved radius (10–30 meters), the system rejects the attempt instantly.
What prevents buddy punching?
The setup itself. To clock in for someone else, a person would have to hand over their personal smartphone — with all their contacts, messages, and data — to a coworker for an entire shift. In practice, no one does this.
What if an employee forgets to clock out?
Both the manager and the employee receive an alert when a clock-out is overdue. If no action is taken, the auto clock-out feature kicks in at a time you configure — stopping overtime charges before they start.
Does the app track employee location all day long?
No. Location is checked only at the exact moment an employee taps to clock in or out. The app does not track location in the background at any other time. No privacy concerns, no legal risk.
How does the multilingual team chat work?
Each team member sets their preferred language once. From that point, every message they receive is automatically translated into their language — regardless of what language it was written in. It works for 1:1 chats and group messages, across 7 languages, in both directions.
What if restaurant slang or shorthand gets mistranslated?
The original message is always shown alongside the translation so nothing is lost. And in practice, urgent in-person situations are handled verbally — the messenger is primarily used for schedules, announcements, and routine updates where the language is clear.
How do I share payroll data with my accountant?
One click. Simplin exports payroll as an Excel file in the format most accountants already use — regular hours, overtime, deductions, and taxes are all pre-calculated and ready to send.
Can I manage multiple store locations?
